In Lviv, work will commence on the refurbishment of the ‘Kulparkivskyi‘ park, located at the terminus of tram No.2 on Y. Konovalets Street. Plans include modernising pathways, particularly considering the needs of people with limited mobility, improving street lighting, and replacing park furniture.
The Head of the Environment Formation Department of the Department of Architecture and Spatial Development of the Lviv City Council, Mykhailo Shevchenko, noted that the park will be updated with minimal expenses, including path retiling and the reorganisation of the area near the stop. The removal of one kiosk is also planned. Attention is paid to creating an environment that is as accessible as possible for people with limited mobility.
As part of the project, the playground and health paths will be revamped, aimed at enhancing motor skills in children and sports for adults. The park will feature walking paths and terrenkur paths for ‘therapeutic walking‘. Such terrenkur paths are special routes with ascents and descents, designed for health preservation.
Special attention is given to green plantings: specialists have identified several hazardous trees that need to be removed as they could pose a danger to visitors. Fourteen such trees, including old willows and ashes, will be removed to enhance the park’s safety and aesthetics.
