A three-month-old girl who was at risk of death due to a tumor was urgently taken to Lviv. Doctors at St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital performed an emergency operation, removing a palm-sized tumor that was compressing her heart and lungs.
Varvara, the first child in a family from Rivne, had breathing problems and cyanosis of the nasolabial triangle. Doctors diagnosed a progressive tumor in the left lung and sent her to Lviv for immediate intervention.
The operation was successful: the tumor, along with the affected part of the lung, was removed, and the heart returned to its place. Varvara is now healthy.
For further treatment of complex cases, modern medical devices are needed. The charitable platform dobro.ua has launched a fundraising campaign for an electro-ligation generator for St. Nicholas Hospital.
