The Holy Panteleimon Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv hosted the Third Congress of Robotic Surgeons — a two-day scientific and practical conference that brought together specialists from Ukraine and international experts from the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Participants discussed the latest approaches in robotic surgery, shared their own experience and examined complex clinical cases. Oncologists, urologists, gynaecologists, transplant surgeons and anaesthetists took part, all of whom use modern technologies in the treatment of patients on a daily basis.
Oleh Samchuk, General Director of the First Medical Association of Lviv, noted that the institution demonstrates strong outcomes not only at the national level, but also by European standards. According to him, in paediatric robotic surgery the association has maintained its leading position in Eastern Europe for three years in a row now, and robotic surgery should become as routine as ultrasound diagnostics once did.
A distinctive feature of the event was the combination of presentations with live online broadcasts of operations in real time. Doctors could observe their colleagues at work in the operating theatre, ask questions during interventions and immediately discuss the finer points of how they were carried out.
The organisers emphasise that the conference has become an important step for the further development of robotic surgery and professional exchange of experience, as these technologies are aimed at improving the safety, precision and quality of medical care.
The First Medical Association of Lviv provides a wide range of modern care: from diagnostics and treatment to surgical interventions, rehabilitation and prosthetics, including for patients in the most severe conditions and after complex injuries. The association includes the Holy Panteleimon, Holy Luke, Holy Nicholas and Holy Anna hospitals, the UNBROKEN rehabilitation centre and outpatient clinics.
