In Sheptytskyi District, Lviv Region, 18 cases of hepatitis A were recorded, including 8 among children. To address the outbreak, a meeting of the regional commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations was held last week, chaired by Ihor Tuz, Director of the Department of Civil Protection of the Lviv Regional Administration.
Anti-Epidemic Measures
The commission approved an action plan to localize and eliminate the outbreak, including:
- disinfecting infection hotspots;
- organizing distance learning in the school where cases were registered, until February 7, 2025;
- conducting awareness campaigns for the public.
Water Quality Assurance
The commission also addressed the quality of drinking water in the region. According to the State Consumer Service and the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control, water supply is well-managed and quality is regularly monitored. Measures for enhanced laboratory water quality control were approved.
2025 Action Plan
The commission approved the annual work plan, including preparation for flood and high-water management in Lviv Region in 2025.
