Recently, the Drohobych community received another sad news. A young soldier, a 29-year-old resident of the village of Nyzhni Hai, Viktor Fedis, was killed while defending Ukraine from the enemy.
Viktor Fedis was born on 15 January 1995. He lived in Nyzhni Hai. He graduated from Nyzhni Hai secondary school and Drohobych Polytechnic Lyceum.
After graduation, he worked in Kyiv.
After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukrainian lands, Viktor volunteered to defend his homeland. From 17 March 2022, he performed combat missions to defend Ukraine as part of a National Guard unit.
Unfortunately, while performing combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia sector of the frontline, the soldier was killed.
The deceased defender is survived by his wife, father, mother, sister and daughter.
The Drohobych City Council, its Executive Committee, Mayor Taras Kuchma and Council Secretary Orest Karakevych express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues on the untimely death of our countryman and Hero, Viktor Fedis.

The soldier’s funeral will be held on Thursday, 25 January, at 12:00 at the Crossroads of Heroes.
From the crossroads, the mourning convoy will head to the deceased’s parental home in the village of Nyzhni Hai, where a parastas will be held. Afterwards, a funeral service will be held at the Church of St Paraskeva in Nyzhni Hai.
The deceased will be buried in the cemetery in the village of Nyzhni Hai.
