A youth educational and sports camp “SamCamp” was held in Sambir district together with UNICEF

“SamCamp is a project that aims to provide participants with professional tools for creating youth centres and youth councils in local communities.

The camp was attended by 120 people from 11 communities in the Sambir district, including representatives of youth councils, youth centres/spaces, student government, NGOs, active schoolchildren and students.

From 29 to 31 May, they were given educational lectures and took part in sports competitions in mini-football, basketball, table tennis, chess and checkers. The camp participants also competed in training sessions, with the following communities emerging as winners:

  • 1st team place and a prize fund of UAH 30 thousand – Starosambirska TG;
  • 2nd team place and a prize fund of UAH 20 thousand – Turkivska TG;
  • 3rd team place and a prize fund of UAH 10 thousand – Khyrivska TG.

The other teams will receive UAH 10,000 each. The participants will be able to use the prize money to upgrade the material and technical base of youth centres and youth spaces. These funds were allocated by the United Nations Children’s Fund “Unicef”.

The event was organised by the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the UN Children’s Fund Unicef, the NGO “Inclusiysya” and the Sambir District Administration.
