On Saturday, February 28, the Lviv City Council is organizing a farewell ceremony for servicemen Vasyl Havrysh and Viktor Kolodiazhnyi, who died defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. The city hall urges Lviv residents and guests to join the ceremony and refrain from entertainment activities.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. After that, at approximately 11:30, a citywide farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square. Vasyl Havrysh will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, and Viktor Kolodiazhnyi at Holosko Cemetery.
Viktor Kolodiazhnyi (10/03/1988 — 02/15/2026) was a native of Lviv, studied at school No. 50 and the Lviv State Institute of Modern Technologies. He worked as a translator and was interested in computer graphics. In 2026, he joined the defense of the Motherland as part of the 355th Training Mechanized Regiment. He is survived by a sister and friends.
Vasyl Havrysh (08/07/1980 — 02/25/2026) was also a native of Lviv, studied at Lyceum No. 2 and the Lviv Vocational College of Construction. He worked as a heat engineer. He was a participant in the ATO, defending Ukraine in various directions as part of the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was awarded distinctions by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He is survived by his wife, mother, son, brother, and family.
