At the ‘War in Focus’ festival in Lviv, a documentary film about the combat path of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade was presented.
On June 15, the premiere of the film ‘Ready to Resist. 103rd TDF Brigade of the AFU’ took place at the Lviv Officers’ House. The film was created as part of the ‘Ready to Resist’ series from the ‘TDF Media’ project, initiated by Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyi. The artistic director of the project is director Akhtem Seitablaiev.
The documentary tells the combat story of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Lviv region since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The film features servicemen who were engineers, managers, scientists, programmers, and actors before the war. It includes footage of real combat actions that played a decisive role in the sectors where the brigade operated.
On behalf of the Lviv Regional Council, the authors of the film and the fighters of the 103rd Brigade were congratulated by the acting head of the regional council, Yuriy Kholod. ‘The warriors of the 103rd Brigade named after Metropolitan Sheptytsky not only heroically defend the Homeland but also make history. Through such films, you pass the spark of love for Ukraine to future generations. Thank you for your work and every recorded frame’, he noted.
Also addressing the audience were the festival initiator, head of the Lviv chapter of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, Mykhailo Khvoinitskyi, head of the communication department of the TDF Command of the AFU, Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyi, representatives of the authorities, officers of the 103rd Brigade, brigade commander from 2022 to 2024 Colonel Valeriy Kurko, and film director Mykola Kobyliuk. ‘Our weapon is the word and the camera. In the first year of work, we covered 60,000 kilometers, collected unique material about the creation of TDF brigades, and showed history through the destinies of those who stood in defense’, emphasized Dmytrashkivskyi.
During the screening, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the fallen soldiers of the 103rd Brigade and all the fallen defenders of Ukraine. The military also presented awards to those supporting the brigade and defense forces.
As part of the festival, other documentaries were also presented: ‘Little People Who Started a Big War’ by director Pavlo Neuhodov, and ‘Sienko. A Legacy That Inspires’ by Oleksandr Tkachuk, along with performances by musical groups.
