
Today, February 27, the Drohobych community bids farewell to Ukraine’s defender Nazar Tymkiv. As reported by drohobych-rada.gov.ua, the funeral cortege with the soldier’s body arrived at his native community for the farewell.
The funeral procession was met at the Heroes’ Crossroads, where family, friends, community leaders, and concerned residents gathered. Accompanied by clergy, a joint prayer was held at the crossroads to honor the memory of the soldier. From there, the cortege proceeded to his native home in the village of Lishnya, where a parastas will be held at 7:00 PM.
The funeral service will take place tomorrow, February 28, at 1:00 PM in the Church of St. Archangel Michael in the village of Lishnya. The defender will be buried in the cemetery in Lishnya.
Nazar Tymkiv was born on June 22, 1993, in the village of Lishnya. He graduated from Lishnya Secondary School, the Lviv State Lyceum named after the Heroes of Kruty, and the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Ground Forces Academy. In September 2010, Nazar took an oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people, forever linking his fate with the defense of the state.
From 2010 to 2019, Nazar Tymkiv served active military duty, directly participating in combat operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Since October 2019, Nazar continued his service under contract as a senior officer of the mobilization department of the Drohobych-Boryslav ORVK. Since December 2020, after reorganization, he was transferred to the position of senior officer of the mobilization department of the Drohobych-Boryslav ORTCC and SP.
From March 25, 2020, he was the head of the military registration and reservation department for sergeants and reserve soldiers of the Drohobych-Boryslav ORTCC and SP. Later, he served as a major, head of the naval missile-artillery armament service, and logistics armament of military unit A4055.
Unfortunately, on February 22, the soldier’s life was cut short due to a road accident in the city of Odesa. The injuries sustained were incompatible with life, and Nazar died at the scene. He is survived by his wife, two sons, grandfather, and mother-in-law. Eternal memory to the Hero of Ukraine!
