The Latvian foundation ‘Entrepreneurs for Peace’ handed over 32 vehicles to Ukraine for the military and police.
This aid is part of the foundation’s efforts, which since the start of the full-scale invasion has collected and provided Ukraine with vehicles and other assistance worth over 16 million euros. **The current handover was distinctive** as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine, Andrejs Pildegovičs, participated. “Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, as well as the recent provocations against Estonia, Poland, and Romania, require us to collaborate even more closely,” he noted.
The Ambassador also mentioned that he began his duties in Ukraine just a month ago. During this time, he visited the Chernihiv region and Bucha, and he is currently on his first official visit to Lviv. The Latvian diplomat plans to visit major regional medical centers, where Ukrainian defenders are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
**Yuriy Kholod**, acting head of the Lviv Regional Council, emphasized: “From the first days of the major war, Latvia has stood by us. It not only assists with weapons and equipment but also sincerely supports thousands of Ukrainian families.”
The head of the foundation, Laura Skrodela, noted that 95% of all donations for Ukraine aid come from entrepreneurs. She also mentioned that the Latvian police found a legal way to transfer confiscated vehicles to Ukrainian military personnel.
