Lviv to Bid Farewell to Heroic Soldier Taras Sabadash on Monday

Tomorrow, January 6, Lviv will honor the memory of Taras Sabadash, a defender of Ukraine who gave his life fighting against Russian aggression. The Lviv City Council urges residents and visitors to join the commemoration and refrain from holding entertainment events on this day.

Ceremony Details

The funeral service will begin at 12:15 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Following this, at approximately 12:45, a city-wide farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square. Taras Sabadash will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biography of Taras Sabadash

  • Date of Birth and Death: April 2, 1976 – December 31, 2024.
  • Education: Attended a special educational boarding school in Lviv and later graduated from Lviv Polytechnic Vocational School.
  • Career: Worked as a private entrepreneur in the construction sector.
  • Hobbies: Fishing, mushroom foraging, and numismatics.

Since 2015, Taras had been performing combat missions in the ATO/JFO zone as part of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. During the full-scale invasion, he fought on the front lines in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions and participated in the Kharkiv counteroffensive.

For his bravery, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree and other honors. He is survived by his wife, two sons, mother, brothers, and sister.

Lviv pays tribute to its hero, a symbol of courage and dedication to Ukraine.
