The second camp for military veterans has begun in the Lviv region as part of the ‘League of the Invincible 2.0’ project.
The camp is hosted by the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center of the National Committee for Sports of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NCSIDU), one of Europe’s best sports facilities. The camp will last from September 13 to 22. Twenty veterans and servicemen who were injured in service are undergoing rehabilitation. These are not only military personnel from Lviv region but also from Dnipro, Rivne, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kolomyia.
The participants will experience 10 days of physical recovery, sports challenges, and team support. The program includes training in five adaptive sports: swimming, archery, adaptive sambo, table tennis, crossfit, fishing, and other physical activities, including climbing Mount Shavenka (951 m).
There is an individual approach to each participant, providing physical and psychological support. It is a place of strength and unity, a community that understands and accepts.
“The camp has been organized for the second time as part of the ‘League of the Invincible’ project. After the first camp, we received a lot of feedback that inspired us to continue this work. We feel the feedback from the participants, which only emphasizes the need for such initiatives,” says Roman Khimiak, Director of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of Lviv Regional State Administration.
