The ground robotic system “Protector”, operating within the 429th Separate Uncrewed Systems Brigade “Achilles”, is being deployed on logistics missions along the most dangerous stretches of the front. The vehicle delivers supplies directly to troops’ positions, reducing risks for personnel.
During one of the operations, the UGV came under attack from an enemy FPV drone and sustained shrapnel damage. Despite this, the system was able to keep moving and delivered the cargo to the unit.
The brigade notes that in a single run, the “Protector” carries almost a tonne of cargo. This includes stocks of food, ammunition and other essential equipment, enough to supply a unit for roughly a week. By comparison, most smaller electric logistics UGVs can transport on average about 300 kg over distances of up to 20 km.
After completing one of its missions and delivering equipment to the troops, the system hit a mine on the way back. Due to the extensive damage, it could not be recovered.
The “Protector” UGV, developed by the company “Ukrainian Armoured Vehicles”, is being used ever more widely on the front line as a key element of military logistics. Such systems make it possible to deliver supplies into high-risk areas and to provide units on the line of contact with a steady flow of everything they need.
