Lviv will say goodbye to defender Bohdan Teplyukh today

On Wednesday, 3 July, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Bohdan Teplyukh, who was killed by Russian occupiers while defending Ukraine. Lviv City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from holding entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.

Biographical note of the defence counsel

Bohdan Teplyukh (Danko) (23.09.1985-28.06.2024) Lviv resident.

He studied at the Lviv Physics and Mathematics Boarding Lyceum at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. He graduated from the Institute of Computer Technology, Automation and Metrology of Lviv Polytechnic National University with a degree in Computer Engineering. He graduated from the military training department at the university.

After graduation, he worked as a software developer in Lviv. He was fond of intellectual and live-action role-playing games, and was one of the most important members of the “role-playing” community. According to his family, Bohdan Teplyukh was always “ready to help, support and inspire others”.

From the first day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he voluntarily defended the state against the occupiers. He performed combat missions as a member of the 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In the ranks of the detachment, he took part in battles in Lysychansk, Siverskodonetsk, and also defended the state in Kharkiv region.

Bohdan Teplyukh is survived by his mother, three aunts and cousins.
