On 2 September, the community of Sokal met the soldier, Hero Bohdan Shelemey near the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul with the clergy of the city and district.

Father Yaroslav Kashchuk addressed the community and the grieving family … why do Ukrainian soldiers go to defend, but to prevent the enemy from coming to our cities, villages and families, because the enemy completely wants to destroy the name and surname of the Ukrainian, as well as our Ukraine.

On 09 August, 2024, Junior Sergeant Shelemey Bohdan Yaroslavovych perished in the battle for Ukraine, its freedom and independence, having courageously fulfilled his military duty. Bohdan was born on 2 June 1988, a resident of the village of Tudorkovychi.
Bohdan was a participant of the ATO, from the first days of the full-scale invasion he volunteered to defend Ukraine, he was the commander of the rifle unit of the military unit A7075.
