
The Zhovkva hosted the Zhovkva Cup Race and the Ukrainian Cycling Championship. A record 227 athletes from 14 teams across Ukraine participated. The competition was dedicated to Andriy Kutsenko, an internationally recognised sports master from Zhovkva, who died while defending Ukraine.
Renowned Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych, who had previously honoured the warrior by featuring his name on his helmet, took part in the race. Beyond participating, he donated eight modern bicycles to the children’s sports school where Andriy trained.
Among the participants was also Pavlo Bal, the first Ukrainian to win medals in both the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. Charitable contributions from the participants were directed to assist Bohdan Sitkovsky.
Lviv region emerged as the leader, securing numerous awards: the junior and youth teams excelled in road races, while Oleh Smolinets and others won medals in individual disciplines.
