On 23 May, on the Day of Heroes, the 45th session of the 8th convocation of the Sokal City Council was held in the People’s House of Sokal, where the deputies considered one item on the agenda – “On awarding the title of “Honorary Citizen of the Sokal City Territorial Community” (posthumously).
The deputies unanimously supported the decision to award the “Honorary Citizen of the Sokal City Territorial Community” award (posthumously) to 64 Heroes:

Little children cried hugging the photo of their father, the young widows and mothers who received the “Honorary Citizen of the Sokal City Territorial Community” award. No award can replace a son, husband, father for the family…
Let us honour and cherish the names of those who have helped us to live in a free state, those who left their families to protect each of us, those who sacrificed their lives for the happy future of our nation… The memory of their sacrificial deeds is forever engraved in our hearts. Eternal memory and glory to the Heroes!
