Velykomostivska Community Celebrated Defender’s Day of Ukraine

Today, the Velykomostivska community hosted events dedicated to the Defender’s Day of Ukraine, the Day of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Veterans Day.

Residents gathered at the community’s central square to collectively express their sincere gratitude to our warriors who stand guard over independence, protect Ukrainian land from the enemy, and give us the opportunity to live and build a future. We bowed our heads in prayer for those who have perished in this struggle, with reverence remembered those whose names are already inscribed in the history of our community in gold letters. We prayed for our prisoners and those whose fate, unfortunately, remains unknown as they are considered missing.

On this day, we also expressed gratitude to our veterans. Their protection, dedication, and camaraderie do not end after service. They continue to support their comrades, help the army and the community, providing examples of resilience and faith.

The city mayor, Yaroslav Royko, addressed those present with a welcoming speech, thanking all our Defenders — those currently on the front lines, those who have returned, and those whom we await at home.

Today also marked an important event — the opening of the Avenue of Hope. This place has become a symbol of our belief that every missing person and every prisoner will surely return home. The Avenue is our common talisman and prayer, reminding us: we are waiting, we believe, we do not lose hope.

This day united us all in a common feeling — pride, gratitude, and love for Ukraine and its Heroes. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes! 🇺🇦✨
