Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to defenders Roman Naida and Oleg Kolesnikov

On Tuesday, September 19, Lviv will say goodbye to military personnel Roman Naida and Oleg Kolesnikov, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The servicemen’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

He studied at secondary comprehensive school No. 90 in the city of Lviv. After completing secondary education, he worked as a painter and handyman.

In his spare time, he liked to play sports.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended the Motherland as part of the 128th separate Transcarpathian mountain assault brigade of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Died while performing combat missions in the eastern direction.

Roman Naida is survived by his nephews.

Oleg Kolesnikov (30.05.1978-12.09.2023). A native of Lviv.

He studied at secondary comprehensive school No. 23 in the city of Lviv. He received his higher education at the Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi. During his studies at the university, he completed the military department.

Worked as a logistician and warehouse manager at Podorozhnyk limited liability company. In his spare time, he enjoyed cycling and walking his dog.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended the Motherland in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleg Kolesnikov is survived by his wife, mother, brothers, mother-in-law and nephews.
