
On Saturday, 2 May, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Bohdan Kis, who died defending Ukraine from Russian invaders.
The funeral service for the defender will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul. Afterwards, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a citywide funeral ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.
Bohdan Kis will be buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
Bohdan Kis (24.10.1970 – 15.04.2025) was a resident of Lviv.
He studied at Lyceum №75 named after Lesia Ukrainka of the Lviv City Council. Later he received vocational education in Lviv. After graduation, he served in the Marines.
At first, he worked at the Ukrainian Legion Security Company Limited Liability Company and later in the banking sector. In his spare time, he was fond of music and literature and studied history. Bohdan Kis’s family said: “He was an extremely versatile person, fair and purposeful.”
After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he defended the state from the Russian invaders as part of the 150th Separate Mechanised Brigade (today – the 40th Separate Coast Guard Brigade of the 30th Naval Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). He served on the territory of Sumy, Donetsk and Kherson regions. He was awarded by the military command for personal courage and loyalty to the military oath.
The soldier is survived by his wife, daughter and two brothers.
