On Tuesday, 3 December, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Borys Shvyryayev, who gave his life defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers.
The City Hall calls on residents and visitors to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment and celebrations during this time.
The funeral service for the defender will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul. Later, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a citywide farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.
The defender’s biographical information
Borys Shvyriayev (18.11.1995-23.11.2024) was a resident of Lviv.
He studied at the former Secondary School No. 89 (now the Sykhivskyi Lyceum of the Lviv City Council).
After graduation, he worked in trade. In his spare time, he was fond of cars. According to his family, he loved life: he was cheerful, smiling and talkative.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he stood up to defend his homeland from the Russian invaders. He performed the task of providing armed resistance to the aggressor in the eastern direction, first in the ranks of the 214th separate special battalion “OPFOR”, then – the 33rd separate mechanised brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Borys Shvyryayev is survived by his grandmother, parents, two brothers, aunt, nephews and godmother.
