On Friday, 22 November, Lviv will say goodbye to soldier Stepan Panasevych, who gave his life defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers.
The City Hall calls on residents and guests of the city to join the city’s farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment and celebrations during this time.
The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul. Later, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a citywide farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.
The defender’s biographical information
Stepan Panasevych (09.01.1984-13.11.2024). He was born in the village of Kurovychi, Lviv region.
He studied at the Lviv Regional Council’s Maria Pokrova Special School. He worked in a bakery and later in the construction industry.
According to his family, he was an exemplary family man who loved to spend his free time with his family in nature. He was also fond of car repair and fishing.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he stood up to defend his homeland from the invasion of the Russian occupiers. He underwent military training in the UK, defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia areas in the ranks of the 3rd Brigade of the operational purpose named after Colonel Petro Bolbochan of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The Hero is survived by his wife, two minor children, two sisters and three brothers.
