On Wednesday, April 3, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Yury Yaris, who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The defender’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.
Biographical certificate of the defender
Yuriy Yarish (April 30, 1984-April 1, 2024) was born in the village of Bratkivtsi, Lviv region.
He studied at the Bratkiv Lyceum of Stryi City Council, Stryi District, Lviv Region. He received a vocational and technical education in Strya, later entered the Odessa Institute of Ground Forces (today – the Military Academy).
After receiving the rank of “lieutenant”, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, served in the military as part of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat tasks in the ATO/OOS area.
In 2021, he entered the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky. In April, he was transferred to the 54th separate mechanized brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa of the operational command “East” of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he fought with the occupiers on the eastern side of the front. For his devoted service, he was awarded numerous awards, in particular, the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree.
During the last period, he was engaged in the training of cadets of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. According to his relatives, he was “an exceptionally kind, diligent person, always ready to help, a loving husband and father.”
Yuri Yarish is survived by his mother, wife, two children and two sisters.
