Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Bohdan Rilnyk

On Sunday, March 5, Lviv will say goodbye to Bohdan Rilnyk, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the House of Prayer (“Transfiguration” Church of the Russian Orthodox Church), located on the street Fabrychniy, 21. Therefore, at 12:00 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Bohdan Rilnyk (October 25, 1993-February 27, 2023)

A native of the village of Velikosilka, Lviv region. After the tragic death of his father, he and his brothers and sister ended up in the boarding school “Vyshenka” in the village of Zhovtansi, but in 2008 the children were taken up by the Protsyk family, who raised Bohdan in the spirit of love for God and people.
He studied at the Zhovtanetsk support institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees. He graduated from the Lviv Vocational College of Food and Processing Industry of the National University of Food Technologies.

In 2013, he was baptized in the Evangelical Christian Baptist Church in the village of Grabovets. Later, while living in Lviv, he joined the local church of the EHC “Transfiguration”.

After completing his studies, he worked as a confectioner in food industry establishments, and later held positions in the Limited Liability Companies “Molotok LTD” and “Rush”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he engaged in volunteer activities to meet the needs of internally displaced persons, later he joined the ranks of the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland.

Bohdan Rilnyk is survived by his wife, two daughters and brothers.
