Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes who defended Ukraine

On Friday, June 23, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes. Myroslav Holovaty, Bohdan-Mykhailo Khomyk, Konstantin Seleznyov defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders.

The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Konstantin Seleznyov (July 27, 1979-April 12, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 18 of the Lviv City Council. After completing his studies at the school, he entered the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny. Later he did military service.

In peacetime, he worked at “Epicentr” LLP and in the production of cable and conductor products. He was fond of literature and mathematics.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland.

Konstantin Seleznyov is survived by his parents and two daughters.

 

Myroslav Holovatyy (September 1, 1985-June 15, 2023) from Lviv.

In 2002, he graduated from Lviv Secondary School No. 16. He studied at the Lviv Institute of Economics and Tourism, majoring in “Food Technology”. After completing his studies, he served in the military unit A2374.

Engaged in private entrepreneurship, achieved success in maintenance of refrigeration equipment.

Performed combat tasks in the anti-terrorist operation zone in the ranks of the 3rd separate motorized infantry battalion of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was awarded numerous awards for personal courage.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he defended the state from the invaders in the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Myroslav Holovaty is survived by his parents, daughter, wife, brother and his family, and godson.

 

Bohdan-Mykhailo Khomyk (14.11.1994-17.06.2023) Born in the city of Vinnyki, Lviv region.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 29 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the Secondary Vocational and Technical School No. 64 of the city of Lviv (today – the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Design and Construction”). After completing his studies, he served in the military as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In peacetime, he worked in the Court of Appeal of the city of Lviv and the Territorial Department of the Court Security Service in the Lviv region.

Performed combat tasks in the area of the Joint Forces operation in the ranks of the 128th Separate Transcarpathian Mountain Assault Brigade of the “West” Operational Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He met the beginning of a full-scale invasion on the front line, fought with the invaders near the settlements of Volnovakha, Yakovlivka, Bilogorivka and Zolote. Despite the injury, he returned to the front.

For his personal heroism, by decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 2nd and 3rd degrees and the “Cross of the Ground Forces” commendation.

Bohdan-Mykhailo Khomyk is survived by his grandmother, parents, wife, daughter and father-in-law and mother-in-law.
