Tomorrow, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes

Tomorrow, November 19, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes. Bohdan Dobrobabenko, Oleksandr Pukhach, Dmytro Krasnyansky died defending Ukraine. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Bohdan Dobrobabenko (14.12.1975-19.10.2022). A native of the village of Sednivka, Kirovohrad region.

 

He graduated with a gold medal from the Sedniv Educational Complex “General School of Grades I-III – Preschool Educational Institution”. Subsequently, he received a diploma with honors from Eduard Oleksiyovych Didorenko Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs.

Captain. With the beginning of Russia’s aggression, he volunteered for the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, went through the “combat path” from a grenade launcher to a company commander. In his free time, he was fond of diving.

In 2016, he and his family moved to Lviv. He completed his military service at the base of the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security. He was twice awarded departmental awards of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he took the post of company commander of the International Defense Legion of Ukraine. Subsequently, he was the commander of an infantry company as part of the 60th separate Ingulets infantry brigade of the operational command “South” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took a direct part in the liberation of Ivanivka, Mykolaivka, Novopetrivka, Visokopill, Arkhangelsk, Trifonivka, and Olgany in the Kherson region.

By decree of the President of Ukraine dated July 8, 2022, he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree for personal heroism.

Bohdan Dobrobabenko is survived by his wife and two sons.

 

Oleksandr Pukhach (June 26, 1977-October 15, 2022). A native of Lviv.

Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 77 of the city of Lviv with an in-depth study of economics and management. After completing his studies, during 1995-1997, he served in the military in the former Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro).

In peacetime, he was a handyman, worked in the construction industry in Ukraine and abroad.

In 2021, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat tasks in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation as part of the 15th separate mountain assault battalion of the 128th separate mountain assault Transcarpathian brigade of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sergeant. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the terrorist state, he fought with the Russian invaders in the ranks of the same 128th separate mountain assault brigade. He defended the Motherland in “hot spots”.

By the decree of the President of Ukraine dated April 11, 2022, “for selfless actions shown in the protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” he was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree.

Oleksandr Pukhach is survived by his ex-wife, a son, two grandchildren and two half-sisters.

He graduated from the Eastern Ukrainian National University named after Volodymyr Dahl. In peacetime, he worked at the Limited Liability Company “Design Institute “Comfortbud”.

He was fond of photography, music, history and travel.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer and stood up for the defense of the Motherland.

He fought against the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush of the Reserve Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In October 2022, Dmytro Krasnyansky was awarded the rank of junior sergeant.
