On Monday, November 6, Lviv will say goodbye to serviceman Yury Kinash, who died at the hands of the Russian invaders while defending Ukraine. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.
The serviceman’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Studied at the Lviv secondary school of grades I-III No. 43 of the Lviv city council of the Lviv region. In 2007, he graduated from the Lviv Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training named after Heroes of Krut. Received higher education at Lviv Polytechnic National University majoring in “Information control systems and technologies”, in 2012 received a master’s degree in computer science.
He completed military training at the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny under the program of reserve officers. In 2011, Yuriy Kinash was awarded the rank of “junior lieutenant”.
In peacetime, he was engaged in private entrepreneurship, performing electrical installation work. He was a member of the team of the festival of Ukrainian medieval culture “TuStan!”. He was fond of mountaineering, orienteering, kayaking, half-marathons and hiking in Turkey and Greece.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the Russian invaders in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the operational command “West” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During his service, he earned the rank of “lieutenant”.
For personal courage, he was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “For achievements in military service” of the 1st degree.
Yuriy Kinash is survived by his parents, stepfather, sister, niece and girlfriend.
