Prosecutors of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office have completed the pre-trial investigation and sent an indictment against a 58-year-old man to court. He is accused of premeditated murder (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The investigation established that on January 29, 2023, in Drohobych, the accused killed his partner. On that day, he and the victim were celebrating her birthday, drinking alcohol, when a conflict arose between them. During the argument, the man took a knife that was lying on the table near the sofa and stabbed his partner 15 times. The woman died at the scene from her injuries. At the request of the prosecutor, the most severe measure of restraint was imposed on the man – detention without bail. The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region. Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
