In Lysynychi, work is nearing completion on a memorial space to honour the defenders who died protecting Ukraine from Russian occupiers. This was reported by the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development.
On the rise at 48 Shevchenka Street, next to the Community Office and at the entrance to Lysynychi, 8 panels have been installed with photographs and information about the fallen Heroes. Two more panels are to be delivered in the near future. At present, the Community Office is agreeing the submitted information with the families of the fallen.
The memorial space began to be arranged a few months ago on the instructions of the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development. The main avenue has been laid with paving tiles, side paths have been made from screenings, park furniture and a flagpole have been installed, and there are plans to add external lighting.
The area has also been landscaped. According to the head of the Office, Nataliia Alieksieieva, young larch and oak trees, forsythia, Pissard’s plum, junipers, miscanthus, sage and other plants have been planted. In total, around 130 plants have been installed, which were purchased by the Office.
The concept for the memorial space was developed by the Department of Architecture and Spatial Development of Lviv City Council.
