Winners of spring football cups determined in Drohobych

The final matches of the spring cups took place at the Ivan Bobersky Sports School stadium.

 

The sporting event began with the national anthem of Ukraine and a minute of silence in memory of the fallen soldiers and civilian Ukrainians who died as a result of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, after which everyone thanked our defenders with sincere applause.

The Deputy Mayor for Humanitarian and Social Relations Yuriy Kushlyk and the head of the Drohobych Football Association Stepan Luzhetskyi delivered welcoming remarks.

In the final of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes Cup, FC Rychtychi and Karpaty Dobrohostiv met. The Carpathians won thanks to a quick goal by Mykola Garasymiak.

In the main final of the Cup of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, players from the Boryslav Children’s and Youth Sports School and FC Mriya from Sniatynka met. For a long time, the game was even, but in the middle of the second half, the more experienced players of Mriya tipped the scales in their favour. Denys Onyshkevych, Ihor Tershak and Mykola Ilnytskyi scored in the match.

Afterwards, the award ceremony was held by Deputy Mayor Yuriy Kushlyk, Chairman of the Football Association Stepan Luzhetskyi and his deputy Roman Prots.

Representatives of the winning teams and the best players and scorer were awarded memorable prizes:

– Representatives: Volodymyr Levytskyi (Sniatynka), Taras Demkiv (Boryslav), Volodymyr Babiy (Dobrohostiv), Ivan Makar (Rykhtychi).

– Players: Denys Pavlyshak (Sniatynka), Oleh Borys (Boryslav), Mykola Dutka (Dobrohostiv), Bohdan Bushta (Rychtychi)

– scorer: Denys Onyshkevych (Sniatinka)

The referees of the final matches were also honoured: Maksym Orlyak, Vladyslav Kos, Taras Parashchak, Yurii Matliak, Volodymyr Zhyhailo, Vasyl Valkovych.

The players of the teams received commemorative medals of the appropriate grade, and the teams received cups. Each team of the Drohobych community received sports equipment from the city council as support.

It is worth noting that during the matches, funds were raised to purchase a drone for the reconnaissance company of the 53rd separate mechanised brigade of a serviceman, Drohobych footballer Vasyl Yuzvyak.

The Drohobych Football Association expresses its sincere gratitude to the director of the Bobersky Children’s and Youth Sports School Mykhailo Gordynskyi for providing a sports base for the competition and to all those involved in the event.
