LODA Chairman Maksym Kozytskyi reported on the progress of the sowing campaign in the Lviv region.
We are currently ahead of last year’s figures. The weather also helps us in this.
As of today, spring crops have been sown on an area of more than 227 thousand hectares – the plan has been fulfilled by more than 51%. I will add that in the same period last year, such crops were planted on 37% of the planned area.
Farmers have completed the sowing of early crops
In all districts of the region, agricultural enterprises increased sown areas: Zolochiv by 0.7 thousand hectares, Chervonohrad by 0.65 thousand hectares, Stryj by 0.6 thousand hectares, Lviv by 0.2 thousand hectares, Drohobych by 0, 15 thousand hectares, Sambir and Yavoriv on 0.1 thousand hectares.
Continued sowing of late cereals and industrial crops
They were sown on an area of 75.6 thousand hectares – this is 34% of the planned. In particular, 28.6 thousand hectares of corn for grain, 26.6 thousand hectares of soybeans and 20.4 thousand hectares of sunflower were sown.
