Olenka Ponizovska, a student from the Horodok community, has earned a silver medal at the World Gymnasiade in Taekwondo, competing as part of the Ukrainian national school team.
She is a participant in the “Skyl1Ne” sports project, a trainee of SK SHOT “Favorit”, and trains at the “Sport for All” Municipal Center. Olenka competes in the -51 kg weight category.
Her journey to the silver medal included impressive victories over strong competitors from Serbia, Turkey, and Iran.
After the event, Olenka shared a heartfelt dedication:
“I dedicate this medal to my father, who is defending Ukraine.”
Her success is a source of pride not only for her local community but for the entire nation.
