Pavlo, the senior combat medic of the artillery battery of the amphibious assault brigade, survived being hit by a tank, crawled with his legs cut by shrapnel from one seriously wounded to another and saved their lives.
The work of a combat medic means saving fellow men at the cost of superpowers and sometimes of one’s own health and life.
“On February 24, we left for the task of maintaining bridges near Novaya Kakhovka. The Russians broke through, we knocked them out. Two days later, we entered the rear of the enemy and destroyed an armored personnel carrier and six enemy tanks. When we went out, we were fired upon by hails, tanks, “ZUshka”, snipers. Covering ourselves with fire, we crawled out of that hell. It was not without casualties and injuries,” says Pavlo.
To the topic: Stories from the front. Oleg lost an eye, but returned to his unit to defend Ukraine.
A tank hit a military target, all the shrapnel hit his legs. He was unable to walk, but continued to provide assistance. The combatant and the officers took the survivors to the medic in the basement.
“I crawled from one to the other. Two were seriously injured. One is almost unconscious due to massive venous bleeding. I saw two exposed bones, I was pouring saline solution. Brothers survived,” the combat medic recalls.

Military serviceman of the DSHV in the 80th brigade since 2015. In civilian life, he was a veterinary paramedic, but in the army he became a humanitarian doctor. Until now, he saves the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. He modestly says that the service does not let him go.
“I want to tell the Ukrainian people that everything will be fine. It is really scary to fight, but if we don’t meet the Russians here, they will be in every house. We will have to meet them in Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and again in Kharkiv. If the occupiers are not stopped here and now, they will spread throughout Ukraine. Therefore, we have no choice but to fight and win,” concluded Pavlo.
