Pigs from Bryukhovychi Removed, but Monitoring Continues

Pigs from the residential area of Bryukhovychi have been removed, but the situation remains under control.

Today, a commission comprising representatives of the Lviv City Council visited Smolyasta Street, 10. No animals were found on the leased land. Until recently, an unauthorized pig farm was set up at this address. Due to the stench, unsanitary conditions, and the danger that the pigs might escape beyond the fence, the residents of Bryukhovychi began to reach out en masse to various services.

“The situation is outrageous and beyond our competence. However, it required immediate action,” said Iryna Kruglova, Deputy Director of the Office of Agglomeration and Community Development of the Lviv City Council. “Therefore, we first directed appeals to all the controlling services – the police, the prosecutor’s office, the State Consumer Service, and the State Environmental Inspection. Additionally, based on numerous appeals from residents living near the makeshift pig farm, we initiated the formation of a commission consisting of the aforementioned services.”

Today, such a commission visited the specified address. However, the tenants did not allow its representatives onto the premises. Only the police were able to enter, confirming that there were no animals on the premises. The air quality was within the normal range. All this was documented in the commission meeting protocol drawn up following the site visit.
