Mushroom picking can be dangerous if safety rules are not followed.
Everyone is familiar with this feeling: the morning mist, the rustle of leaves underfoot, the scent of pine, the first rays of sun, and – silence. Silence, interrupted only by the whisper of grass under a mushroom cap. But in the pursuit of trophies, many forget: the forest is very treacherous. Every year, rescuers receive dozens of calls: someone got lost, someone felt unwell.
Before heading to the forest, read these simple but vital rules. They can not only keep your spirits up but also save your life. Before you go: inform loved ones where you are going and when you will return. Fully charge your phone and, if possible, take a power bank. Wear bright clothing – it will help if you need to be found. Take water and snacks with you. Never go alone.
If you get lost: don’t panic. Stop. Call 101 or inform your loved ones. Call for help – there are many mushroom hunters in the forests now, someone will definitely hear.
Your trip to the forest should end not with a call to the rescuers, but with a fabulous photo of a full basket and an aromatic dinner on the table.
