The photo report on the Lviv Lyceum named after the Heroes of Kruty received a prestigious international award in Denmark. This photo project, dedicated to the life of the lyceum students, won 2nd place in the “Photo Report of the Year” category (Årets Reportage, Udland) at the prestigious Danish competition Årets Pressefoto. The photos were taken during a week-long visit by Danish journalist Niklas Polje to the lyceum. The photographer documented the cadets’ daily life from early morning to evening retreat, capturing genuine moments of their lives.
The photographs include scenes from the lyceum’s daily life: wake-ups, educational processes, formations, friendly conversations, humorous moments, and also remembrance of the fallen and the youth maturing during wartime. The Årets Pressefoto competition, established by the Danish Association of Press Photographers in 1974, is the most prestigious award in the field of photojournalism in Denmark and recognizes works that accurately reflect reality.
This year, 2,196 photos and 51 videos were submitted to the competition by 120 photographers. Currently, the photo report on the Lviv lyceum students is on display at the Royal Library of Denmark in Copenhagen, one of the country’s leading cultural centers.
