In the Lviv Palace of Arts, the centenary of the legendary Polish director Andrzej Wajda’s birth was celebrated. On March 6, a screening of the film “The Maids of Wilko,” made in 1979, occurred, along with a meeting with Polish actress Maja Komorowska. The event dedicated to Wajda’s 100th anniversary gathered representatives of the Polish community in Lviv, cultural figures, as well as Lviv Regional Council deputies Petro Tsegolko, Iryna Suprun, and Kateryna Kenyo. During the conversation, Maja Komorowska shared her memories of working with the director. Despite a broken arm, the 88-year-old artist decided not to cancel her visit to Lviv.
“I am certain that the Year of Andrzej Wajda, proclaimed by the Polish Sejm, and the events in Lviv within its framework will become additional bridges of good neighborliness, brotherhood, and understanding between our peoples,” said Petro Tsegolko.
