In the Chervonohrad region, the police detained and took into custody two criminals who committed a robbery attack on a pensioner

We would like to remind you that in the conditions of martial law, maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or taking possession of it by abuse of official position.

A 79-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district contacted the police and reported that in the evening unknown persons had beaten and robbed him in his own house.

An investigative team and other employees of the Chervonohrad district police department worked on the spot. As the law enforcement officers established, two unknown persons – a man and a woman – illegally broke into a private house, beat the owner, took money and other valuables, and then fled.

Soon after, law enforcement officers identified the residents of the district, an 18-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, involved in the crime. The perpetrator was immediately detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the man hid for some time, but soon the law enforcement officers located him and also detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Physical evidence was taken from them.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the perpetrators of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of eight to fifteen years with confiscation of property.

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainees.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
