Former lyceum procurement specialist in Lviv region to stand trial over almost UAH 1.4 million in losses

In the Lviv region, an indictment has been submitted to court against the former public procurement specialist of one of the region’s lyceums, who is accused of official negligence. According to the investigation, her actions caused losses to the state budget of almost 1.4 million hryvnias. The evidence for the prosecution was collected by the Lviv region police.

Law enforcement officers established that in 2025, while improperly performing her official duties, the employee organised and carried out the procurement of teaching aids and equipment for a geography classroom at prices that exceeded the market level by almost 530 thousand hryvnias.

The same year, according to the investigation, she committed official negligence during the organisation and conduct of procurement of computer equipment and devices for a mathematics classroom. These procurements were also carried out at inflated prices, as a result of which damage of almost 860 thousand hryvnias was caused to state interests.

In total, as noted by law enforcement officers, the unlawful actions of the accused led to losses to the state budget amounting to about 1.4 million hryvnias. The woman was exposed by officers of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in the Lviv region together with investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect has been notified that she is under suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). The pre-trial investigation has been completed and the indictment has been submitted to court.

The sanction of the specified article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of two to five years, with disqualification from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years, and with a fine ranging from two hundred and fifty to seven hundred and fifty tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, or without such a fine.
