The driver violated the speed limit, failed to stop at the request of patrol policemen and, as it turned out, was drunk
Yesterday morning, in the village of Velykyi Doroshiv on the Ternopil-Lviv-Rava-Ruska highway, patrol policemen recorded an Audi A6 moving at 74 km/h with a TruCam mobile speed measuring device.
The inspectors signaled for the car to stop, but the driver ignored it and continued on. The patrol policemen caught up and stopped the offender’s car. The man got out of the car and tried to leave the scene.
During the conversation with the 38-year-old driver, signs of alcohol intoxication were detected. The citizen agreed to be tested in a medical facility.
At the hospital, the man was tested twice with a Drager device, which showed a result of 1.90 ppm. In his explanation, the man stated that he had not consumed alcoholic beverages and did not know why the Drager device showed a positive result.
The patrol policemen issued a report under Part 1 of Art. 122 (Exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h) and two reports: under Part 1 of Art. 130 (Driving while intoxicated) and Art. 122-2 (Failure to comply with the requirements of a police officer to stop) of the CAO.
