Police in Lviv region are looking for a driver who hit a 13-year-old girl and fled the scene
Anyone who has any information that will help establish the circumstances of the accident should call 102 or the nearest police station.
The accident occurred on April 12, around 21.30, in the village of Stenyatin, Chervonohrad district. As law enforcement officers have previously established, an unknown driver of an unidentified car hit a 13-year-old local resident and fled the scene.
As a result of the accident, the girl was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Department for Investigation of Crimes Committed by Children of the Lviv Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the Road Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
A range of operational and investigative measures are being taken to identify the driver who committed the accident and locate the car.
A pre-trial investigation is underway.
