According to the court’s decision, the detainee is in custody. For what he committed, he faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
As the employees of the Lviv District Police Department #2 established, on October 6 around 10:30 p.m. on Volodymyr Velykyi Street in Lviv, an assailant attacked a passerby – a 46-year-old Lviv woman, beat her, took a purse with money and documents, and then fled.
Detectives of the criminal police and investigators of the territorial division of the police were involved in solving the crime. A complex of operative and investigative measures was carried out, the law enforcement officers also studied the recordings of video surveillance cameras and established that a 22-year-old man from Lviv was involved in the crime.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
He was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime stipulated in Part 4 of Article 187 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of eight to fifteen years with confiscation of property.
The court chose the detainee as a preventive measure – detention.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
