In the city of Sheptytskyi, a fire broke out in a three-storey residential building, in which two people were killed. A report of the blaze reached the Rescue Service on 27 July at 06:37.
When the fire and rescue units arrived at the scene, flames were already pouring out from the balcony of the third floor. Due to heavy smoke, the firefighters worked in respiratory and eye protection apparatus.
From the smoke-filled flat, rescuers carried out a woman born in 1934 and handed her over to medics, as well as the body of a man born in 1956. According to medics, the woman died in hospital.
The fire was contained at 07:29 and fully extinguished at 07:59. The causes and circumstances of the fire are being established by specialists.
