In the Truskavets community, residents and businesses are being urged to use water sparingly due to the nationwide low water levels. This was announced in connection with a new order from the State Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine.
The State Water Resources Agency has issued Order No. 95 dated 08.06.2026, signed by the head of the agency, Ihor Hopchak, “On the introduction of restrictions on the rights of water users in connection with low water levels”. The document provides for a reduction in water abstraction limits for business entities operating on the basis of permits for special water use.
The reason given for these restrictions is a catastrophic decrease in precipitation, which has led to low water levels. This is confirmed by data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre (UkrHMC) and the State Water Resources Agency. The document describes the situation with the shallowing of rivers, lakes and other bodies of water as alarming and critical throughout Ukraine.
According to the information cited in the appeal, 2025 was the driest year in the last 20 years, and the overall trend in precipitation in recent years has been extremely unfavourable.
In the Truskavets community, businesses, institutions and organisations of all forms of ownership, as well as domestic consumers, residents and visitors, are being asked to use water sparingly as an exceptionally valuable natural resource, the shortage of which, due to global climate change, is becoming increasingly evident not only in Lviv region, but throughout Ukraine and in other countries around the world.
