Rescuers in the city of Sheptytsky made four call-outs for various emergencies over the past week.
Roman Kis, the head of the 33rd State Fire and Rescue Unit, reported that the rescuers responded to a road traffic accident in Bendyuga village, unlocked doors in Sheptytsky, and extinguished two fires – in a summer house on Radehivska street and in a utility building in the village of Ostriv.
He urged residents not to interfere with the rescuers’ work during emergency situations. \”The desire to help by handling specialized firefighting equipment only complicates the experts’ work and creates additional risks,\” noted Roman Kis.
He also denied false information suggesting that fire engines arrive at call-outs without water. \”A fire engine’s tank holds about 2700 liters of water, and the discharge from one fire hose is approximately 7 liters per second,\” he explained. The water in the tank can be exhausted within minutes, especially during large fires.
