м. Lviv: firefighters rescued four people, including one child, during a fire in a high-rise building
On May 1, at 18:00, the Rescue Service “101” received a report of a fire in Lviv on Shyroka Street. The fire broke out on the eighth floor of a nine-story residential building.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, flames and thick black smoke were coming out of the balcony on the eighth floor.
Due to the heavy smoke, the firefighters had to work in special respiratory and visual protection devices.
The stairwell was quickly filled with smoke, so not all the residents could get out into the fresh air on their own, so firefighters used special rescue devices to bring three adults out into the fresh air and carried one child out in their arms.
At 18:57, firefighters localized the fire and eliminated it at 19:01.
A total of 19 firefighters and 5 units of special equipment were engaged in the firefighting operations.
The causes and circumstances of the fire are under investigation.
No one was injured in the fire.
