At today’s session of the city council, deputies failed to override the mayor’s veto of the resolution on the construction of tennis infrastructure in Lviv’s 700th anniversary park.
As a result, the city will look for other locations for tennis infrastructure.
The resolution, which was adopted on 12 September, was suspended by the mayor because it was inexpedient to divide the park’s territory within the approved boundaries.
“We have a good intention to increase the number of tennis courts in Lviv. There was a proposal to find an area where such courts could be arranged through an investment competition.
We had a working visit with fellow deputies. The location in the 700th anniversary park is definitely not suitable for this mission. We have agreed that we will prepare a new location as soon as possible and will stick to our line that the number of courts should increase. I hope that at one of our next meetings we will prepare a resolution and invite Lviv’s wealthy people to join the construction of courts in our community,” said Andriy Sadovyi, Lviv Mayor.
As a reminder, the Investment and Projects Department of the Lviv City Council received an investment proposal for the construction of 8 tennis courts to develop tennis in the city.
