The Department of Civil Defense of the Lviv Regional State Administration informed about the emergency events.
For seven months of this year, Russian occupation forces continued their attempts to destroy critical and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine through combined attacks using ballistic, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
In this regard, as of August 31, the “Air Alert” signal was announced 147 times in Lviv region. The total duration of the air alerts was 6 days and 2 hours and 57 minutes.

During this period, the enemy attacked the territory of Lviv region with sixteen missiles and UAVs. As a result of these attacks, three critical infrastructure facilities were damaged. There were no civilian casualties. Five people sustained moderate injuries.
“The statistics are very telling. The occupiers do not give up their attempts to destroy the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian people. Therefore, we take this opportunity to once again urge the residents of Lviv region not to neglect civil defense signals and take shelter in the nearest shelter during the air raid,” said Ihor Tuz, Director of the Civil Defense Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration. – “We also have quite sad statistics on the number of people killed as a result of dangerous events, so we urge you to follow the rules of life safety in everyday life.
In the first seven months of this year, we recorded 1 industrial emergency, 1 natural emergency and 324 hazardous events that resulted in 189 deaths, including 1 as a result of an emergency, 108 in road accidents, 32 in fires, 31 in water bodies, 3 people died as a result of railway accidents, and 2 from carbon monoxide poisoning. 12 people died as a result of accidents, including at work.
During this period, we also recorded:
– 13 cases of snake bites (no deaths, 13 people hospitalized, including 1 child);
– 1,021 fires in ecosystems on a total area of 101.13 hectares, including dry grass, shrubs, reeds – 97.7 hectares, peat – 2.6 hectares, forest crops – 0.8 hectares, stubble – 0.02 hectares, and landfills – 0.015 hectares.
