Taking into account the fact that there is currently no water in the bowl of the pool, classes for young swimmers are held in the “dry swimming” hall and outside. Despite the fact that, as noted by the director of the institution Oleksandr Voevoda, school pupils participate in regional competitions and become their prize-winners and winners. In particular, 13-year-old Margarita Romankova fulfilled the II sports standard among adults. The achievements of Artem Monchin, who is currently studying at a sports school in Sweden, are pleasing. He became a two-time champion and silver medalist of this country in swimming among children under 13 years of age. By the way, Artem was trained by Yuriy Tkach, who today defends Ukraine from Russian invaders in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
The boxing department, headed by Honored Coach of Ukraine Ivan Khomyak, is working fruitfully. Thanks to the funds of the local budget, this year it was possible to introduce two coaching positions for the wrestling department. Now it is fully staffed and four highly qualified coaches work with young wrestlers.
There is no shortage of people willing to visit the football section. Pupils of senior coach-teacher Vasyl Havalka repeatedly demonstrated their skill at competitions of various levels. In particular, they were finalists of the interregional football tournament among children in memory of the famous coach Yaroslav Murovany.
During the summer vacation, the pupils of the school visited Bulgaria for a training session, so the children had the opportunity to both improve their health and take part in competitions. Therefore, according to Oleksandr Voyevoda, the State Secondary School No. 2 properly prepared for the new educational and training process. Taking into account the fact that it will take place under martial law, teachers and students are familiar with where the nearest shelters are located and how to behave in the event of an “alarm” signal.
