The devices were purchased within the framework of cooperation between the Lviv OVA and the USAID organization.
On June 20, eight institutions sheltering IDP children received modern computer equipment as part of the USAID “Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine” and “New Horizons for Children in Ukraine” projects. In total, 61 laptops with a total value of almost 1.5 million hryvnias were handed over to institutions. They will be delivered to educational and rehabilitation centers in Dobromyla, Naguyevychy, Pidhirtsy, Pidkamen, Mykolaiv and other settlements of the Lviv region.
“It is important for us to help regional institutions that educate children from Lviv Oblast and those who were forced to come here from other regions. In September 2022, Lviv OVA conducted a monitoring of the needs of such institutions in order to establish new partnerships, cooperate with patrons who are ready to invest funds in this direction. The current cooperation with USAID is very fruitful, earlier the organization bought generators, household appliances, dishes, furniture for educational and rehabilitation centers of the Lviv region, today we are handing over a batch of modern laptops to them”, – emphasized the deputy head of the Lviv OVA, Ivan Sobko.
It should be noted that the devices were purchased within the framework of the memorandum between Lviv OVA and USAID, which they signed in November 2022. The document provides for the provision of technical assistance to Lviv Oblast institutions where IDP children live.
“85 children who were forcibly evacuated from the Mykolaiv region lived in Pidhirtsivska school. We felt the need for new equipment, because many pupils of the institution study in a distance format. We sent a request to LOVA and USAID for 10 laptops, which we actually received. Both children and school staff will be able to use them,” said Lesya Volshchuk, deputy director of the ENT Center of the Podhirtsiv Special School.
